Powerlink Systems Brings EV Charging to Battle Creek’s Fort Custer Industrial Park

Battle Creek, Michigan – October 17, 2018 – Powerlink Systems, a Michigan-based electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions provider, today announced the completion of an EV charging station installation at the Fort Custer Industrial Park in Battle Creek, MI, the largest industrial park in the state.  Two dual-port Level 2 stations manufactured by ChargePoint, the world’s leading EV charging technology company, were installed to enable fast and convenient charging for the Park’s current and future tenants, as well as visitors to the area. The stations are located out front of the newly renovated Frederick R. Brydges Customs Cargo Center, which serves as the new offices of Battle Creek Unlimited (BCU), the Park’s manager and the business and economic development arm for the city of Battle Creek.

Fort Custer Industrial Park is a premier international business park in Southwest Michigan providing easy access to major highways, fiber telecommunications, a local airport, and now EV charging. In addition to being the most advanced Level 2 EV charging technology available, the Park’s new stations are connected to the cloud to enable remote administration. By leveraging ChargePoint’s cloud network, station administrators have the insight and flexibility to set access controls for the stations and to enable charging access by time of day. The price for a charging session can also be set based on energy cost, duration, time of use, session length or driver group.

The ChargePoint cloud network delivers a great charging experience for EV drivers too. The ChargePoint mobile app will allow drivers to easily find the Park's stations, remotely determine if any of the ports are available, and track their charging status and activity over time.

“With EV charging capabilities, BCU and the Fort Custer Industrial Park will be able to attract new businesses to Battle Creek,” said Steven Litz, President of Powerlink Systems. “25% of vehicles sold by 2025 will be electric, making access to charging stations an expectation for employees of new and growing companies. BCU has further advanced the Fort Custer Industrial Park, and Battle Creek, as a viable location for top international businesses.”
