Troy, Michigan - February 23, 2018 – Powerlink Systems, an electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions provider, announced the completion of an EV charging technology upgrade at Automation Alley, Michigan’s leading technology business association. The existing Level 2 charging station at Automation Alley’s headquarters in Troy, Michigan was replaced with a networked dual port unit manufactured by ChargePoint, the world’s leading EV charging technology company. Along with being the most advanced Level 2 station available, the ChargePoint station comes with the power of the world’s largest and most open EV charging network.
By leveraging ChargePoint’s network, Automation Alley now has the insight and flexibility to set access controls to allow specific groups of drivers to use their station and to limit charging availability by time of day. Automation Alley can also set the price for a charging session based on energy cost, duration, time of use, session length or driver group.
ChargePoint delivers a great charging experience for EV drivers too. The ChargePoint mobile app will allow drivers to easily find Automation Alley’s station, remotely determine if any of the ports are available, and track their charging status and activity over time.
In addition to upgrading to the latest EV charging hardware and software, Powerlink Systems and ChargePoint were able to offer Automation Alley significant cost savings through a promotional trade-in program. By trading in their existing station, Automation Alley was able to save over 50% of the cost of the station hardware. Automation Alley will also be receiving a one-year parts and labor warranty for no additional cost.
